EDIT: just saying that after reading the last post...
yeah, it has the same "mission" i guess like any other game console, to play games....it can just play the old games and gamesaves i dont know of anyone actually putting a softmod type of thing on it, hopefully with the firmware flashing someone could try something

so what do i need to do to mod halo first get it backed up someone (how) do i do that on the computer or xbobx? second mod it someone probably with a program. and then get it back on to my xbox i think... is this right man i am confused
I've elected to use your process to assist my son in his nagging need to mod his XBox 360. He's 8. I've come to find out that some of the MODS on the Internet are for Halo PC version and other can support Xbox or Xbox360.
I did get the error trying to launch the Super PPF, but it was resolved when I loaded MS .NET as mentioned in this forum.
I backup original files using XPORT
I was able identify all sppf files except two.
I was able to upload all files to XBOX 360 harddrive original directories.
Upon playing the games, my son is wishing more options to be available.
-He states he can only use the same gun on every MOD level.
-He states not all the Maps are Modded.
-He would be playing on the MOD Map in split screen mode and when he shoots, the other player dies everytime.
-He isn't logged into xbox live
In review of the last download which has the MOD maps, please explain what is the difference between PPF and SPPF. Can PPF be used on 360 and how do you perform this process? Is it required?
Well Backyard is the only person who has come to this thread asking for help that has actually read other's questions, and mine and Starchy's responces so I actually feel like helping him out.
First off, that video you have found on YouTube are mods used on either one of the Xbox's. I have no idea which because it's the same game no matter what box you play it on.

This is because of the mods I have supplied you guys with. If you download different .sppf's then you will have different mods.

If it is one of the original maps that is located on the disc then it will not be modded with this tutorial. In order to mod old maps on your Xbox 360 you either have to flash your drive (which I don't know how to do) or hotswap discs (which involves taking apart your Xbox 360).
But if it is Terminal, Relic, and Sanctuary that are not modded this is probably because they have different names on your Xbox 360 harddrive.

Again, this is because of the mods I have supplied you with. They were made to do that so if you just search around for more mods then you will probably come across some that don't do that.

A PPF and a SPPF are just different types of patches. Originally there were only PPF's until someone made Super PPF (SPPF Program) for maps that were said to be 'packed' with alot of modifications.
Essentially they are the same but certain programs use PPF's and Super PPF uses SPPF's.
Neither a PPF or a SPPF are required for a Halo2 map but mods usually come in these two formats.
As you search for mods on the internet, you will find out that along with these two types of patches, there is another called SERENITY.
They all serve the same purpose but were made by different people.
But if you download new PPF's, SPPF's, or SERENITY patches you simply apply them to a backup of the map you are modding.
For .ppf patches I reccomend using 'DotHalo'
For .sppf patches use 'Super PPF'
For .serenity patches use 'Serenity'
All three of these programs are pretty self explainatory if you just read what they say. The only one that maybe be confusing would be DotHalo because its sole purpose wasn't to make and apply PPF patches. It can be used to edit all aspects of the maps from run speed to jump height and even what gun you start off with.
But if you need any more help be sure to let me know. Also if people continue to ask the same questions over and over again I will just ignore you. This is not because I'm mean, simply because you can read and if not then you wouldn't know what this says anyway.
