well it offical no more free update if you buy after Jan. 1st]
Dear valued customer,
As of January 1st, 2009, Slysoft will change its update policy from free
lifetime updates to an annual subscription fee. All license purchases
made before January 1st, 2009 will not be affected by this change; as
promised, all licenses purchased before 2009 will still be honoured
under Slysoft's free lifetime update policy.
SlySoft announces this step in advance in order to provide its customers
with the choice between the old and new licensing model. Buyers who act
quickly can get an additional discount with the current ongoing special
promotion.
Until Wednesday, December 31 2008 Slysoft offers a 20% discount on all
software products--except upgrades. If you are entertaining the thought
of purchasing one of Slysoft's products, now is the right time to act!
Happy Holidays!

Never will be cloning BluRays. Blanks are prohibited in price. The best I will do is get a BR player and buy a few blockbuster BluRay movies. Maybe!! Gotta get a lot cheaper. There will always be DVDs for the near future. BluRay not so popular; so far even tho it's about the only thing that outputs true 1080p. Cable or OTA stations don't! PS3 or player only. My blockbuster has two five foot shelf spaces dedicated to BR.

That wouldn't surprise me..just about my luck. At least I would have DVDFab Plat. to fall back on.....until they followed in Slysoft's footsteps anyway ;D

I believe the reason that Slysoft worked so hard to beat BD+ (before the new year) is to help boost sales and to prove their invincibility in the arena of decryption. They have succeded.
As this is the only software to decrypt blu-ray, the reason to purchase is self evident (especially with free life time updates).Anydvd HD now reigns supreme over BD+
just my thoughts,
Jo

Just updated to the newest 6.5.0.8 and noticed a little change on the info screen...
Now, below my name and serial number, it says
"Free updates until: Forever"
I need some kind of smiley here!!! :)

Quote: If you purchase AnyDVD and upgrade to AnyDVD HD before January 1st, 2009 then you will receive lifetime updates at no cost.
If you purchase AnyDVD now and wait until after January 1st, 2009 then you will be purchasing your upgrade license based on the new licensing policy and would therefore fall under the annual subscription fee. It's wise to purchase the AnyDVD HD upgrade before January 1st, 2009.
When you upgrade to AnyDVD HD you physically receive a new license and the old registration for AnyDVD is voided.

This is a quote from a Moderator over on the Slysoft Forum, I just thought that those of you interested in purchasing the HD upgrade might want to be aware of this. I do not necessarily agree with this position myself. But this post is for information only and not to rant.
