Looks like you are forgetting to go to drive tools and unlock drive before doing the backup. This is not a one time setting, You must do this for each backup.

There's nothing wrong with that burn mate.

Every Xbox 360 game has a video partition on it which contains a short video that displays the message "To play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 console" in various languages. There are 3 different types of video parition, referred to as wave 1, wave 2 and wave 3. Wave 3 also contains the $SystemUpdate folder which contains files to update the Xbox 360 to the latest dashboard version (should it need to be updated). You're burning a newer wave 3 game, while your son has obviously burned an older game that contains either the wave 1 or wave 2 video partition.

Have you actually tried playing the game in the 360? Is the console flashed with the latest firmware? Older firmware won't play the latest wave 3 games (pretty much every game released in the last few months, with a handful of exceptions). If you've got iXtreme 1.51 or 1.6 installed on the console and the game still doesn't play, then it must be a bad burn, because you seem to be doing everything else right.

Hopefully someone here can help me out, I have been burning games for a year with IMGburn using my mad dog md-16x3dvd9-8x drive after running the iso's through agbx, I recently had to format my PC HD and now when I try to burn games imgburn locks up anywhere from 6-18% complete, i have had only one game come through complete since the format. I am using Verbatim 2.4 from sing. I have tried flashing my burner with different firmware and same results, please help i dont know what the heck it could be.

I seem to be having trouble setting my booktype to DVD-Rom with DVDInfoPro, my DVD re-writer is an LG GH22LP2, which is supposed to support bitsetting changes, however when I attempt it with DVDInfo it says it is not supported.

Any ideas?

Hi guys, I am getting soo confused. there are so many tutorials online and each of them states something different.

so here's the deal (bear in mind i'm a noob in this), I "backed up" my 360 game and using and then I checked from xdvdmulleter that it's not stealth packed and when i tried to patch it using ss merger 1.6 i get the following error
[img]
http://img686.imageshack.us/i/360error.jpg/[/img]

so i don't know what that means

so can you please guide me the right way?

thank you

get rid of mulleter, and ssmerger. buy yourself a benq, sammy, or lite-on drive from ebay. flash it with iextreme 1.6 0800 firmware. use it to back up your games. then you can just burn them.

however, if you insist on doing it your way *sounds like you are using winxripper method to me* then after you copy the game, run it through abgx and it will patch it for you, so then all you have to do is burn the game.

Come talk with us on efnet at #elitemods !!! or just click ME

ALSO, DO NOT SEND ME MESSAGES ON LIVE REGARDING MODDING CONSOLES, OR HOW I PLAYED A CERTAIN GAME EARLY. I WILL NOT RESPOND. I WILL INSTEAD DELETE YOUR MESSAGE, AND BLOCK ALL COMMUNICATION FROM YOU. JUST SEND ME A PM ON HERE.

thanks for replying but i just got even more confused, sorry.
I should have been more clearer, when I said "backed up" my games i actually meant I.. you know.. downloaded them so i dont see how the first thing applies here.
and also, i really don't want to spend more money on all this, this whole xbox has xost me a lot already and im broke now :(.

And, I didn not use winxripper, however i do have agbx, maybe i should try to use that to see if i have a better result...

thanks for your reply

wab6 - That's a well outdated version of abgx360. Grab the new version and the wave 3 and 4 video files here: -

360 games have a video partition on them which contains a video that says "To play this disc, put it into an Xbox 360 console". The different types of video partition are the different waves. Starting with wave 3, the video partition also contains an update for the dashboard and this tends to be the reason why we end up with new waves - a new dashboard update is released and they put it into the video partition on a game disc, hence a new wave appears on the scene.

Some firmware has strict compliance with certain waves, so it may only boot games if they are waves 1, 2, 3 or 4, for example. Strict compliance is good because it means you can't boot a backup that has a missing video partition, or a video partition that doesn't match up with any of the waves that the firmware supports - it's a security thing designed to stop you being detected on Xbox Live. It's bad because it means that when a new wave appears, you can't boot the game without using a workaround such as the activate.iso disc. Personally I just use a non-stealth firmware that boots anything as I'm only playing offline anyway so the risk of a ban is zero.
