Go to TMPGEnc and click setting. Click the advanced tab and select source range. Double click source range and when it comes up click move to start frame and click set start frame, click move to end frame and click set end frame!!
Also, you can try decompressing the audio before converting and that may solve the sound issue!

Nic it means removing the compression and making it an uncompressed stream! its done easy with virtualdub
1. open the file in virtualdub
2. click video - direct stream copy
3. click audio - full processing mode
4. click file - save avi
the avi saved will have uncompressed audio!
Sherry, hmmmm, so nero doesnt support the drive at all now thats a problem! Well you can try VCDEasy but I think you might get the same result!

Hey everybody....just a simple suggestion here. I had lots and lots of trouble converting and burning my first few movies. I tried everything imaginable. When converting with TMPgenc, I noticed that the movies came out choppy. Like they are going frame by frame...not streaming. Tried converting with Nero and movies came out beautiful. I hve done this succesfully with mpeg's divx's and xvid's. Simply use the wizard choose vcd and hit burn. The program will convert the movie before it burns automatically. Note... you will have to split the file before using Nero.
A program that you can download from tucows called avi-mpeg splitter works really well... Good luck all

sorry ,dela,,forgot to add this ..
when i run the file thru virtaul dub..it gives me foll error..
VD has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values.this may introduce 0ms skew.if this unacceptable decompress and then recompress etce tc.
and then i have to click ok...
bu then nuttin happens..
file still does not load ..so now what do i do .everytime i try to open file ..same mesage pops up.

hi :) new to this forum and just had a quick question for dela (or anyone that can help lol). So i followed your instructions and the converting process was good. I'm having troubles with the burning bit.. I've downloaded Nero, and during the writing process it screws up.. the log says:
Burner underrun
Burn process failed at 8x(1,200KB/s)
Know what went wrong? I've checked that it's not on simulation.. and that its not on the image writer. I have demo verson 5.5.10.28. thanks :D

Make sure you defrag your hard drive regularly and also, run the nero cd and drive speed tests!
Nik, Ok are you saying the file still wont open in tmpgenc or virtualdub?

To defrag, right click on your logical drives and click on "properties" then click on the tab "tools" and on the bottom "defragment now"
