I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH DIRECT CONNECT

Ok, i have just donwloaded direct connect the latest version. i had to install some .net thing to install direct connect now its all up and running............here comes the bad bit........i click to view all the hubs and i cant join most hubs because i dont know how to share but thats becides the point when i do get into a hub and try to get someones list thing my pc just freezes on the spot ive left it for about 5 mins to see if it was not reacting very fast or sumthing but no nothing ans this is happening ever time
