How to Convert an AVI File so i can put it on a DVD Disk

I have got a lot of AVI Files and was trying to put them to disk using nero, but that wouldn't let me it said i would need to convert it in to a valid file. So does anyone know how to convert AVI Files to VOB Files or something.

hi paul

1.convert your avi's to mpeg 2's with this guide:http://www.dvd-guides.com/guides.php?category=othertodvd&name=tmpegenc

2.convert your mpeg 2's to VOB files with this guide:http://www.dvd-guides.com/guides.php?category=dvdauthor&name=tmpegencdvdauthor

3.burn your VOB files with Nero using this guide:http://www.dvdshrink.info/nero-video.php

trial versions of both TMPGEnc,and dvd author available on the guides.
