i've succesfully backed up my family guy vol 1 dvds, but now when i try to rip my vol 2 discs each one freezes at 50%. i don't think this is a scratched disc problem cause they all seem to stop at exactly half way. I havent had this problem with ripping any other dvds.

Are you getting a CRC error using Shrink? How many is 'all'?

when using DVD Shrink, or any other of the programs, it doesn't give an error it just freezes at 50%. When using decryptor it continually trys to rip past the 50% mark and keeps doing this forever. im wondering if the discs have some different encryption. all was referring to all 3 discs in the family guy vol2 set. Ihaven't had this problem or any problem when trying to backup other stuff

I doubt those particular discs have any special encryption, it's not a new release. There shouldn't be anything different about these 3 than any others. Since you've backed up DVDs before and know enough to try other rippers I'll accept that your computer is adequate in all ways.

Unless you're short HD space or memory is a problem I don't know what to tell you that you haven't already tried. I've had very good luck with CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD recently - but wasn't running into a wall before.

Post this in the Advanced Users forum. Maybe a guru there can figure out what's happening...or not happening.
