My family has AOL with Broadband DSL. We bought a Linksys Wireless Access Point Router to share the DSL connection between my computer, my brother's computer and my parents' computer.

The dsl modem that we got from AOL is hooked to the linksys router through an ethernet cable. The router is then connected to my computer through an ethernet cable and to my parents and brother's computers through a wireless pci card.

My first problem is that I can't connect to any program that requires internet access except AOL. File sharing programs such as soulseek and kazaa lite just say connecting the whole time but never connect me. I can't even stream audio or video files. I'm sure that my problem is port forwarding, however since I have AOL with Broadband, I am unable to forward ports on my router. What can I do to fix this problem? Also I have Zone Alarm Pro on my pc and I have told it to give my p2p programs full access. I have heard that since I have a router I don't need a software firewall like Zone Alarm. Is this true?
