i open an avi clip, and in the status bar towards the bottom of the player, it says
locating codec server
sending request to codec server
error downloading codec
The video still plays, but from the time i open the video, to the time it plays is based on how long it tries to download codecs, and how many times it repeats it- usually around 2 seconds- i know, not a big deal, but a deal nonetheless...
For the time being, i went tools/options/player, and un-checked "download codecs automatically", which gets rid of the process.
