Has anyone been able to back up this set of 4 dvds? I have tried DVDxcopy platinum, DVDecrytor and DVD Shrink without success. I can't even load the disks to my hard drive. It will read until about half way through and then it hits a snag that it can't read and the copy programs freeze.

ajr78,

Run all 4 discs and compress all to 4.30GB, then - Give DVBD2One a try - use it in the "Join" mode - You should be able to get them at least down to 2 DVD's and with a double spin, get them down to DVD-5 for all of them :P)

Does it do this with all four discs at about the same point?

Does it do it with any other titles?

Are you getting any specific error messages?

My killer sig came courtesy of bb "El Jefe" mayo.

I was able to transfer disks 1,3, and 4 to my hard drive with DVD Shrink. I haven't had the chance to burn them to DVD disks yet.
Disk 2 gets to the 51% point then just stops. No error message. DVD Shrink says the the original is not crypted. DVD Decrypter and DVDxCopy Platinum also stop at this point. I tried DVD Rescue to see if it detects anything, it doesn't, but also stops at this point. I don't see any physical problem with the original.

As they say in Mexico, "Chaa, Chaa Happens" -

Ya want to try ripping with DVD Decrypter in the "file" mode ? -
Maybe try a different version of DVD Shrink ?

Pete

(sorry I missed the "freezing part of the first post :-(

Success!!
Sorry for troubling everyone. As they say "Read the Guide first."
No problem after reading how I was supposed to use DVD Shrink.
