Please Help a Newbie

I'm trying to convert an XVID film file I d/loaded to DVDR and have TMPGEnc. After altering the Dirct show Media VAPI plug in to the highest priority )which I had to do to fix a length of film problem) when I load the film file into TMPGEnc I now get the message Entry Point Not Found and the following error message.

The procedure entry point
?GetUnicodeStr@CSimpleTextSubtitle@@AE?AVCString@@H_N@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library vobsub.dll.
Now the film does not have subtitles so went staright to the encoding process using the afterdawn guide but I keep getting this message and when it encodes it produces a 0MB size file. I have tried several different things but nothing has so far worked. The codecs used on the film are supported so I know that's not the problem. The only other thing is that there no DVD2AVI.vfp plug in loaded. Would this have anything to do with my problem??

Has anybody else had this problem and solved it. If so can anyone please help as I haven't been able to successfully convert one AVI file.
