Hello everyone! I have been hanging out here for a little while just lurking reading the posts. I have to say that I have learned a great deal and I thank you all for all of your knowledge and willingness to share it. The one thing that I don?t understand is why there are so many variations in the results people are getting. I keep seeing people who are using the same media, similar hardware, the same software, and who are backing-up the same movie but the results tend to vary quite a bit. Form people not being able to back-up a DVD, to people just have problems with quality. Are there that many variables that I am not seeing?
The main thing to consider is that nobody here has the exact same system/software configuration which introduces a whole slew of variables.
Basically if you use a good burner with the latest firmware, quality media, the recommended software and follow the guides closely you are off to a very good start. Depending on your system's specific hardware/software and settings you might run into a snag but it's usually something fairly easy to fix.
In my view, the single greatest cause of problems is low-grade media so get yourself some Ritek G04 or Verbatim Metal AZO, take your time following the guides and I bet you'll be in burning heaven in no time.
Welcome to AD! Put your feet up and sit a spell :)
