Hello, was wondering if the limited (200,000 u.s.) edition Halo, green Xbox set was anything unique outside of the cosmetic appeal? Any particualr disc drives in them or any other internal changes?

basically you are buying this xbox for its looks only !
there is no upgrades or downgrades to it. The green xbox's also have all the 3 types of dvd drives so getting a samsung is random unless you know the serial numbers.
Also what Jdilla did is what i should have done. I bought an xbox 1 week before the green one came out , and i am kicking myself. Anyway its definaly worth it if you need a new xbox for some reason .

where did you buy your xbox. i bought mines at circuit city, and it has a 30 day warantee. they even gave me a free controller with the purchase of my xbox, so i got the green halo xbox, with 2 controllers, and the halo game for 163 dollars. worth every penny. im just saying if you bought yours a week ago, you can still go back and exchange it, depending on the store refund-exchange policy. one last question, what kind of cables are needed to connect your xbox to your pc? is it us b cables? like the one that my printer has? or what?

I modded my xbox right away , so i can't take it back.
when you mod you xbox you connect it to the pc using cat 5 wires. Those are the wires fast interent modems use.

Jdilla,
got to xboxlive.com there are pictures and explanations of the hookups. It is the same process as live, plus you are then ready for other multiplayer stuff like xbconnect and others.
ver 1.0, 1.5 and 1.6 with 200gb hdds & X3. Team Xecuter Pro front panel with LCD Screen (rocks). GC with qoob pro, Team xecuter's iced cube case mod and a BBA.

jdilla , The CATAGORY 5 (CAT5) wire looks like a jumbo sized phone line.
Go search it on google or something because it good common computer knowledge to know about these wires.

OK, just bought this green machine, and boy is it sweet! Sold my black box to a buddy of mine to help pay for the new one. the pictures do it NO JUSTICE. This thing is the smoothest factory box I've seen yet. (for the exception of the clear ones) Upgrading the IDE cable and adding a heatsink to the VPU. No other mods for this beauty, cept maybe a led fan for the back by the cpu. Where's a good, reliable place to pick up the Thorsen Torx driver set?

first things first, this "special edition halo xbox" needs a torx-15 to unscrew the first 6 screws(not t-20) like some guides say. and on the inside, the normal t-10 screwdriver is used to take(3) screws inside the xbox. it has a SAMSUNG DVD-ROM DRIVE. i dont know if its for all of them, but thats what my had.and the hardrive its a SEAGATE model #st310014ace. just tought i needed to share that with the halo special edition owners. peace

Mine contained a Phillips drive with a Maxtor drive, I'm not sure what size the screw were though. I upgraded the IDE and added a heatsink to the Nvidia chip on the main board directly under the dvd drive.
