I am running winmx on windows xp. In xp, the ICF (internet connection firewall) is enabled by default in the network properties. Will this option affect my use of winmx in any way?

It could affect your use of winmx. It might stop it from accessing the net or acting as a server. Both would make your shared files un viewable and if it can act as a server, will make downloading impossible.

Really it depends on how good the firewall is.
