Hello,

I want to be able to burn a DVD with my stuff and then if needed move the movie back into a usable and editable animation format, is that possible? how do I need to burn the DVD in order for it to be unprotected.

Thanks.

I'm having a hard time figuring out what you mean by this, could you please explain in more detail?

Basically I want to create a contest for kids from middle school to create movies on different formats, one of them DVD. The winner will be posted on the school web site and so on. I was wondering if I could accept DVDs because in case a DVD wins and their movie has to be uploaded to the server.

Thanks

Hi there franriv,

I'm still not sure what DVD's a middle school student would turn in but, if it were in an ISO format you might need something like DVD Shrink to "Open" it.
My thought is that would be highly unlikely.

Anything burned to a DVD wouldn't be "Protected" at any rate - Commerical DVD's are encrypted (protected), so it follows that what ever you burn (unless you're a major Production Studio) wouldn't be "protected".

You might want to consider just using a DVD RW disc to begin with so that going back and forth from one to another would be easy.
If you wanted to open and edit a "students" DVD, use DVD Shrink it's easy and cheap (Freeware).
