Has anyone run into VOB protection on any games and if so how do you back up the CD?

What title is it?

Sure sounds like a DVD game though most of the new DVD titles I've read about use SecuRom so I don't know where VOB protection fits in.

Praetor is the man! If you're game is "Sacred", it is protected with ProtectCD 5.9.5.996 which has a protected VOB on it and, as far as I've been able to find out, hasn't been defeated yet :( Here's a good link with a bunch of info:

As to that protection, I have also not heard of a successful copy that was feasible to do. (i.e., you can copy it perfectly with 100% confidence -- if you use a bitburner -- but those are outside of the budget range for most of us :P)
