I sucessfully made a back up of indiana jones and the raiders of the lost ark THX digitally remastered (compressed)using verbatim media.I use DVD Shrink and Nero and only rip the movie always to the hard drive as video ts folders.Played back fine in my panasonic -rv40 standalone player 2-3 years old yet when i load it in my other player Nu-Tec NDV2100 it just does not see it at all. Tried it in my friends Toshiba same thing,zip. Tried in my brothers Sony (same age as panasonic) it loaded and played fine.All my other movies ive backed up on verbatims yet load up fine in all the players ive mentioned. Maybe bad batch so i backed up another different movie (compressed)using same method played fine in all players.When I was using the cheap media before switching to verbatims ripping and burning and playing back in my pc was never a problem but when playing back in my Panasonic was but not so in the Nu-Tec bar one or two pixelations so I decided to make another copy from the original (movie only) using the cheap media as a test, this time using dvd decrypter DVDshrink to compress and nero to burn and behold it loaded in the Nu-Tec player fine.Being Verbatims and Riteks are on the same par as in quality shouldn't they play back in all players?How is it that all my other backups burned on Verbatims are compatible and not the indiana jones ????one?
