If anyone can help, I am looking for a program that will converts formats like .avi, mpeg, and others to dvd format that is compatible with dvd players. Please give me some advise. I have widows operating system.

Hi Brasco,

First you need an MPEG encoder:
- QuEnc (free)
- TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator (40 $)
- TMPGEnc Plus (50 $)
- CCE Basic (60 $, the source file cannot be MPEG)

Then you need a DVD authoring tool:
- DVDAuthorGui (free)
- DVD Styler (free)
- TMPGEnc DVD Author (70 $)
- DVD-Lab (100 $)

Edited:
There are also all-in-one tools (capture, editing, encoding, authoring):
- NeroVision Express (included in Nero 6, the image quality is not great)
- MainConcept EVE (70 $)
