i have been using dvd shrink and nero6 with excellent success in the past. However, i'm getting the impression that some disc are universally problematic to copy, eg. fullmetal jacket, pirates of the caribbean, etc. I personally have been able to rip Kill Bill 1 but nero will not burn it...
anyone else with this problem and/or solution

thanks in advance

I don't think there are any universally problematic titles. For instance, I've ripped and burned all three of the titles you listed without incident. DVD Shrink was used to rip/compress and RecordNowDX was used to burn :)

What error is Nero giving you when you go to burn Kill Bill?

I agree with previous posting - all three are rippable and burnable using Shrink and Nero.

Possible probs with quality of original disks?

thanks guys for all your imput. I tried reloading Nero 6 and so far it seems to be working.

the original dvdshrink tutorial i used implied that individual had problems with lotr 2, two towers.

i probably need a second backup strategy but the confusion is which one? dvdxcopy plat, anydvd. etc

i'd like to poll the audience for easiest, least problematic and cheapest.

DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter :) You already have Nero so you're all set with best tools available.
