Short film from Final Cut Pro to DVD on G3 iBook. Possible?

Hi, I'm very new to DVD burning. I have a G3 ibook, 640mb ram with a Lacie 120gb firewire external hardrive. I use a small camcorder to capture material by firewire. I've edited a short film about 20 minutes long using Final cut Pro. Do i have to convert the output from Final Cut Pro to Mpeg 2 and is my system powerful enough to do it (& how long?) and what's good software to do it using a G3 ibook. Is CaptyDVD any use? I'm thinking of buying a Lacie d2 external DVD burner - will this work with my system?

I think you need at least a 733 mhz G4 to encode and burn DVD's. Those are the system requirements to use iDVD or DVD Studio Pro.
