Can you copy XBox and PS2 Games for backup without buying a special mod chip to be installed in the game console? If yes, what software does that?

If not..I am looking at a Solderless X-ecuter Plus 2.3 for my XBox without using swap disks, etc....also looking in buying Magic V+ Red chip with clip-solderless for my PS2 without using swap disks, etc...

What is the best software to copy XBox and PS2 for backup, 2nd, 3rd recommended? Is DVD X Copy Platinum capable doing this?

Thank you for your help!

PS: I know a reputable mod chip maker that you may buy from that supplies these chips if asked, and if the moderator says ok to it.

you can copy ps2 and xbox games without any chip but you will need that chip in your console to play your backups.to backup ps2 games you can use most burning software eg Nero,Alcohol 120,record now,DVD Decrypter to name but a few by just creating an image on your hard disc and burning back to dvdr disc using standard pc dvdwriter. to backup x-box games is a bit more complex and would probably be better answered in the x-box forums here at afterdawn

If you don't wan't a modchip for your ps2 then you can get a fliptop cover. They don't have anything like that fo xbox though.

you CANNOT backup an xbox game without either a modchip or flashing the onboard bios (tsop)

by the way there is no "software" on earth of which you can make backups of xbox games, just using a PC, the xbox needs to FTP TO A PC, using a hacked bios and an alernative dash, such as evolution x, then the files after ftp need to be re created into xbox readable ISO, then burned to disc (best program for this is stomp recordnow) the reason for this.........xbox games read backwards, and cannot be read from a pc.
