While burning dvd's with nero 6316 i have noticed that after burning is completed the data verification seems to always fail,I have windows xp and am using a low end tdk dvd+r/rw burner.Every movie that i have copied after decrypting with dvd decrypter will freeze during the movie at different and unrelated areas. I have tried many different brands of media as well as burning the movie at a slow speed like 1x. Could the data verification failure be connected with the freezing movie segments? I have tried formating and reinstalling the pc and have also used the nero toolkit info tool which says everything is a go.Its hard for me to believe that everyone using nero 6 and xp have this problem however it has me puzzled, has anyone with this problem figured out a way to correct it without using a different burning software other than nero?

The Data verification error can be ignored most times when u receive them. If you are getting freezing and skipping it most likely is down to the media you are using. What media are you using?

Hey there hamletoid,

You might want to take your query over to the DVD-R for newbies forum........this one is to discuss media (the discs) and I'm not sure you'll get the help you need in here.

but first you might want to go to the top of the page and find that SEARCH button. I'd be surprised if you can't find the answers to your query that way.

But if a search doesn't work then post over there and I'm sure someone will come to your aid.

Data Verification errors are media orientated and can usually be solved by changing the DVD Media you use or by updating your firmware...

I fixed this problem by getting recordnow max by stomp, it has a feature which disables the windows xp dvd playing/buring drivers which must of been what was causing the conflict with Nero 6. After installing and running that feature i went to Nero and burnt a dvd movie with low quality inexpensive dvd+r disks and i cant be happier with the result.Thanks to those that responded so fast.

You could have disabled Windows IMAPI service through Services under Administrative Tools :)

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > IMAPI CD Burning COM Service, then set the Startup Type to disabled.

Disabling the Windows IMAPI service was the solution to the problem that i was looking for, thank you very much.
