how can my modded xbox playback dvd-r(backup movies)

the subject pretty much describes the question, when i insert a dvd-r movie on my modded xbox, it doesn play, is there a special program that i need to install to my xbox. or do i need to buy the xbox dvd playback kit?

my xbox plays backups just fine with the xbox controller in the program that slayers installed for me called "dvd movie player" in evox
do you have that program in your xbox?
you don't need that remote ( xbox dvd playback kit)
install that software and you should be set to go.
can you play original movies?
do your backups work on other machines?
possibly it could be an old flash?maybe , not sure?

that slayers installed for me called "dvd movie player" in evox <-- nah i dont got that program. im using evox 3935. and i flashed my chip with the lates bios for it, im not able to play orginial dvds, and my backup dvds do work on other players.. does the back up dvd has to to be dvd-r or dvd+r, cuz so far, ive noticed that my xbox just takes dvd-r.
