DMS3 Boot Issues I Need HELP!!!

hey guys, i'm new so excuse my stupidity...
I purchased a dms3 and had it installed about a year ago, at that time every game would boot with no problem... now my cd based backups will boot, however when i try to boot dvd-r backups it sometimes takes up to 30 tries to get it to work and even then sometimes doesn't. I use TDK DVD-R and always burn at 1x with alcohol 120%... by the way, all originals always boot... do you have any ideas as to what might be wrong and what i can do to fix it. Try cleaning your laser or replacing it.

Yeah it sounds like you just need a cleaning or and adjustment. Your laser is not completely shot if it is stil booting DVD originals.
