Hello All,

I've done a few copies of DVDs for trial, and all of them has
the same problem :
I extract the files with MacTheRipper, then use either
DVD2OneX or DVDRemaster to get them under 4,3 GB.
I then burn the DVDs either with Disc Utility (from an img with
DVD Imager) or with Toast6 in the Data-DVD-Rom format.

THEN, I try to play the movies on my TV.
It ALWAYS starts OK, then after about an Hour, it starts
skipping, then quitting !

Anyone has some info as to what I'm doing wrong ??

Thanks

PS : I use a Imac G4, 700 Mhz
externel Pioneer S606 and CompUSA DVD+R, +RW or -R

It seems to me that is just a matter of poor quality media.

Memorex is a funny brand. They get their media from
different manufacturers (some are good some are real crap). I
would not buy them. Too many people have reported
problems with them (up to 80% failure).

I use Ritek and so far so good. Not a single coaster or disk
skipping, pixelating. The only thing you have to do is to make
sure you buy A grade Riteks. Check this thread for the
pictures of the ones you should get. My favourites are the
Ritek Branded ones (purple top).

Thank you Londor for your info and link.

From it, it seems Maxell are the best.

I noticed "they" (I mean the PC pack) mentioned a soft called 'DVDINFO' to check their medias. Anyone knows of an OS X equivalent ??

Thanks

Maxell is one of the best media as long as it has been manufactured in Japan but that is not always the case.
The best media is probably Taiyo Yuden but is very pricey.
I am very happy with Ritek. I have not had a single problem with them and you can get a spindle of 25 Ritek Branded for £11 in the UK.
