I've been trying to get the Family Guy Season 3 DVDs onto my HDD for 3 days unsuccessfully. I've looked through the guides, searched google, etc, but everything is about burning it all back onto a DVD which i dont want to do. i want to convert it to .avi or .divx using Xvid or something.
The problem lies with the files in VIDEO_TS: there are the 8 episode .VOB's, but there are only 4 .IFO's with Episode labels, and 1 .IFO that is VIDEO_TS.IFO + the BUPs.
Ive tried--
AutoGK ( didnt work because of IFO/VOB number discrepancy)
AnyDVD + CloneDVD ( used for burning back onto DVD's or for extracting IFO/VOB )
DVDShrink (also uses the IFO/VOB method)
just curious, when i open moviefactory it doesnt seem like a console type thing its more like, you choose the function and it does it automatically... which is unfortunate.
okay MovieFactory actually ripped them onto my hdd, as mpegs, which is good, but it gave me an error saying it didnt support the Audio, Dolby Digital...
so now ive got 100% quality mpgs with no sound, im guessing theres something i can do about this right?
I've never had this error before with Movie Factory. Is there any reason that you are trying to get these into video files on you HD rather than back them up onto DVD's? I have Family Guy Season 3, I guess I could try to import the video and see if I get that error. I will try to do this in the next day or two & get back to you.
well at some point i was going to burn them onto regular cd's, but not directly... i dont have a dvd burner anyway, and i guess the idea is, i dont want to have to toss dvd's around everywhere to watch stuff...
it might have something to do wtih the audio settings but i dunno, i went to the next step and there were ways you could change the way it extracted
