I have noticed that when I write different tracks to a blank CD, the last two seconds approximately of the tracks are eliminated. For songs that have a fade-out, this is barely perceptible. However, when songs run together, this is very obvious and unappealing. Anybody know why this might happen or what can be done to correct it?

Thanks

Actually, I think it is how the songs are copied. I have realized that it has nothing to do with the number of seconds pause between tracks. Anybody know why?

Tell us how you copy them. It sounds like the "leave out gaps" option of EAC, or the EasyCD Creator 3.5 bug. What software do you use, and how do you use it ?

Well, I finally got an idea about why this might have been happening. I tried to (I guess the word is) rip CD's from my CD-ROM drive, rather than the burner drive, and it worked fine. The whole track is picked up; of course it takes much longer, but I'm happy enough after having to deal with the problem mentioned although I have no idea why this occurs.

To answer your question, I guess the software I'm using is the one that came with the burner: NERO 5.x, I think. (Forgive my ignorance, I'm new to this new kind of technology, although I appreciate it.)

Nero inserts 2 seconds between the tracks it burns.
Some Samsung drives mute a part of each track, near the end.
But in any case, the copy is not shorter than the original.

hi guys, i am having the same problem with the ends of the songs i burn. after i burn a cd, (mp3's converted to wav) they are shortened about 2 seconds on playback. however, when i go back to the source, either the original mp3 or the converted wav, they are normal. it's definitely the burning process that is doing something. i have a TDK burner and i use Nero 5.x. what is going on here? I unsed to never have this problem with my old burner when burning wav files. any help or comments are most apprciated! -Paul
