Is there a way to convert a CD-r that was created as one long track into a new CD-r that has breaks between tracks?

PS: I currently use Adaptec Easy CD Creator software.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Sure there is you just have to use a wave editor to import the audio from the cd onto your pc or mac (let?s not forget those 5% of people using a mac in the world).once you have the audio on your HD just use the wave editor to separate the one track into however many you want.

I think Easy CD Creator has a wave editor but I have have never used it so I'm not sure.

Audacity is a good free wave editor it?s available at audacity.sourceforge.net

My suggestion is to use EAC (Exact Audio Copy, get it at http://www.exactaudiocopy.de). After that you Extract as WAV (MP3 extraction needs a decoder you should put in the proper directroy, like LAME). Then you Choose Tools_Process WAV. You'll see the full WAV. After that, you select the range you want to separate, make File__Save Selection As.. and you're done!
Repeat the process with the full file.. and remember to put zero gap between tracks if it's a live disc or such.
Good luck!

I checked better EAC. Since using the metod I suggested, you should click the exact point you split (or you lose some byte), this is the full method to split EXACTLY the mp3:

1. Start EAC
2. Tool_Decompress
Now the MP3 is turned into a WAV (about 10 times in size of the MP3)
3.Tool_Process WAV
Now the WAV is loaded, tou see (you can Zoom IN/OUT if needed) the whole song graph. Just choose where the track must be split (1st song) and click on the point you've chosen.
4. With the Mouse, select from the FIRST split point to the begining (I told you to choose the 1st song, isn't it?)
5. File->Save Selection As
Now you have to choose a name for the 1st song (e.g.Track01)
6. Edit->Delete Selection
Now the WAV is identical to the first MP3 (now WAV), but the first song has been separeted.
7. Repeat from 01 to N.
Now you have N wav that, if you burn wirh zero Pregap (use CDRWin for exemple, or a registered version of Nero) matches exactly with the first file,
Good work!
