As a novice at burning, i recently purchased some dvd-r media which when burning on nero burning would only write at a maximum speed of 1x. Have I been ripped off or am I missing something. we set nero to burn at max and it came up as 1x speed.

Hi,

Is your burner 4X capable? Cheap no-name media has been known to burn slower than it's supposedly rated for.

hi ok thank you. all other media is burning at 4x./ the cheap media which said it was 4x is only writing at 1x. i am putting in a complain.

Are you using these "el Cheapo" discsto backup DVD's ?? If you are, it could be the media ;-(
