nero not burninng dvd (even after using dvd shrink)

I authored the dvd video files using tmpgenc dvd author. Then I shrunk it using dvd shrink to 4.3gb (automatic).
Nero 6.3.1.6 didn?t write it ejecting the dvd saying insufficient disk space.
Then I usesd dvd shrink to shrink more to 4gb. Even then it shows the same error.
I?m using a 4.7gb dvd-r. Trying to burn the video_ts file.
what could be the reason? how can i burn it properly?

first of all I am not a wizard but a newbie with enough knowledge to be dangerous. I just burned my first movie and this was how I did it using Shrink & Nero. First of use the guides ( Copy entire DVD-9 to a single DVD-r using shrink & Burning pre-authored DVD-video using Nero) they have here they are great. I will be brief but if you read the guides you will understand. Shrink 3.1/ open disk (it will analyse it for you/ Re-author/ pick out what you want, get rid of the stuff you don't (Under the Compression side I got rid of (unchecked the boxes) everything except AC3 5.1 English, for each folder under the DVD structure side) . Custom Ratio to fit movie to DVD /Back up/Encoding/when all that is done open Nero- Nero Burning Rom/ DVD-video/New/VideoTS folder-- add files/select all--add/ make sure your burner is select up top in the recorder window (not image recorder). Click burn this compulation in the tool bar. I hope this helps but if all else fails the Guides are the way to go step by step. Shrink and Nero should be all you need.

well am doing everything sticking to the rules and as the guides says. but still Nero ejects the dvd saying there is not enough disc space to burn the compilation.

My suggestion is to start over and just use Shrink and Nero only. L.M.K. how that works.

It might be because you a re-authoring with TMPGEnc dvd. Try it with just doing your re-author with shrink.

well i used tmpenc to convert avi to dvd format. then i used shrink n nero.
anyways yesterday i used record now max and it worked!! it just wrote the dvd without much problem. it played in the dvd player in my pc and on my stand-alone dvd player. but when i played on the stand alone player the movie was choppy, not smooth. maybe disc problem?

i read somewhere that when u r using windows xp, the IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service (control panel-administrative tools-services) conflicts with nero. i disabled it but still nero said the same thing. i still think nero is having some conflict with something somewhere.
