Hi all, I don't mean to sound repetative but i have a problem connecting my xbox to my linksys router to ftp with my pc.
I am using a linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router
What should my ip address be? subnetmask and default gateway be also?
what I have now is:
ip = 192.168.0.1
subnetmask = 255.255.255.0
defaultgateway = 192.168.1.1
Should i use static ip?
I would like to use it to go online as well as ftp'ing
I have flash fxp on the pc and xbox ftp client on the xbox.
Sorry for all the question. I have read other threads but it left me more confused.
I just need help pointing me in the right direction. Any input would be helpfull.
Thanks ahead of time.

If you still cant connect try changing the ip address on your xbox in the evox.ini file to the ip of your router and when you connect using flashfxp use quick connect and type your routers ip in.

you would be better off changing your computers ip address than your xbox's,its more easy that way. it was hard for me to edit my .ini file,i just gave up after a while and it didnt let me save and exit. therefore i mess around with the computers ip address and thats how i got it to work.now im backing up games using flashxp and a crossover cable

HELP HELP HELP!
I have just purchased the Aladdin 64 Advance and I have successfully modded it. However, I do not know what to do next! Is it done? I have read EVERYWHERE about flashing my BIOS and Dashboards and stuff, and read so many non-sensical tutorials with foreign mod-chips that I've never even heard of! I need someone to speak English for me! I've tried booting up with the chip, and it flashes correctly and everything, but it doesn't read my DVD backups, even with the DVD plugin attached. HELP!

well you obviously haven't succesfully modded it if you haven't got evox running on it and able to copy xbox games to the hdd.

yeh installing the modchip and also flashing ur bios onto the chip wont allow you to play any backups of ur games, you need a dashboard such as evolution-x which enables you to play your backups and other features. if you cant find evolution-x....ull have too look for it on IRC channels like #xbins on efnet.
for info on how to install evo-x go to www.xbox-scene.com and read the tutorials there. goodluk!

You dont need a different dashboard to play backup games you can just use the original microsoft dash. Having a different dash such as evolution-x lets you ftp and put games on your hdd. Having a new dashboard is better but you dont need one.

OH so when I put the chip in, and it said that it can play DVD backups and Game backups, that meant backups that are on the HARD DRIVE, not on a blank DVD-R, right? Because, you technically can't burn an xbox game, because it's written backwards.
By the way, the chip was ENABLED, there is some connection problem. I am having trouble locating the problem, however. Here are some pics.....

Thanks SO MUCH for your help, guys.
(yes yes I know that in the pics D0 isn't connected, but thats because I accidentally pulled it off when I was taking out the Motherboard after noticing the problems.)

matty wat r u talking about ive tried playing backups from the original ms dash and no its not possible, even with chip installed and bios flashed u still need a custom dash to unlock the features of your chip such as playing backup games or ftp etc etc. if u try running a backup on the ms dash it will tell u this is not an original cd or may be scrathed or dirty bla blah.

I emailed Aladdin Tech Support and they said that a new dashboard is completely optional, the chip is all you need to play backups, because as long as the xbox is booted from the chip, the chip BIOS makes the call.

dom316 u should know wot u r talking about before u go shouting your mouth off. u dont need a new dashboard to play backup games off dvd-r/cd-rw u just need a modchip which has been flashed and u can then play them. the new dashboard is just to do more stuff, like copying your games to the hdd.

Hey, did you make the iso for your backup game with xISO or any other app. Remember, it needs to be an xISO so the Xbox can read it.

hockeyfrk; either try a different cd-rw brand, what kind of brand are you using anyways? memorex worked ok for me, i dont think the xbox picks up dvd+r, atleast mines dont, and also about the xiso program, forget that crap, it wont work, it didnt for me, use craxtion and make an iso of your evox, than burn it with different kind of apps to see what works and what doesnt, record now maxv4.50 worked for me. try burning at 4x too, dont speed up the burn, hopefully any of my tips helped you out.
