After installing a SCSI Scanner on my Windows XP Pro
system, CDRWin 3.9F, has stopped functioning. I get error message. I have to turn off the Scanner and re-boot to get CDRwin to work. Does anybody know a work-around on this problem so they could co-exist.
Asus K8N nVidia nForce3 Pro 250 GB, Athlon 64 3200+, Hitachi 80 gig SATA 150, Corsair XMS 1 gig PC4000, ATI Radeon Saphire 9600 Pro (256 DDR), Windows XP Pro (64 Bit),Lite-ON SOHD 167T,, Plextor PX-712SA,BenQ 1640.
The SCSI scanner installs a SCSI/RAID Controllers and a SMPLSCSI.Sys driver. But I don't think it has anything to do with it. My presumption is that there is a file that CDRWin was using and is now being shared by the Scanner which causes instability for CDRwin. The reason is, when I turn off the scanner, and re-boot, CDRwin comes back to life.
I don't know what file is it, and how to fix the problem so they could be friends.
CDRWin is a nice small program that does so much
especially for Data recordings. It does a mighty job for audio as well. I have Nero, which came with my computer and have installed several other programs.

That's because I moved it to a more appropriate forum :)
