uhh i dont know what encoding means?? does it mean changing the file?? and wat does the tmpgenc program do?? does it just change the AVI files to Mpeg?

If you go to the Glossary tab above you can look up words like encode and decode.
If you go to the software tab above and search for TMPGEnc it will tell you what it does. Or just click wherever you see it as a link.
