I made the mistake of buying some Princo 4x blanks. I've managed to burn some at 2x.. no luck at 4x keep getting disc errors. Updated to the latest firmware. has anyone had any luck with the princo 4x.

I have burnt at least 50 Princo DVD-Rs 4x without problem using the DVD burner Sony DRU 510A ! My take on the issue is : the burner and the driver conflicts are the culprits in most cases. In this forum, I noticed lots of concerns over the DVD media and they all sang up Ritek . For movies, I just bought Princo 100 DVD-R spindle and they seemed O.K so far . I have no exprience on long-term reliability of Princo though. My oldest movie on Princo DVD is about 3 month old. For important pics and docs, I would play it safe with more expensive brand-name DVD-R like Verbatim or Memorex.

About six months ago I purchased 100 of Princo 4X and burned about twenty movies. Then I went back to test them about a week ago. I had placed labels on the burned disks. Each and everyone of the Princo I burned had read errors. I am now copying them over again with Rietex G04 and so far no problems. I would not use Princo media again. Period.roberson

I admit that Princos are not very good, but I wouldn't be surprised if your problem was caused by the labels. I used to label my DVDs until I found that many of them wouldn't play after a few months. Removing the labels fixed every one. I now use ink jet printable DVDs and no more problems.

I have prob used about 500 Blank Princo DVD-Rz with my LG4040B and i have not had a problem with them.

If i were you i would'nt burn your movies on cheap media as they won't last as long as a good dvd like verbatim or ritek I started to use princo but learnt the hard way and ended up bining about 160 movies due to errors ect (No Labels fixed)

I have been using the A Grade Princo with no labels for awhile and havn't had any problems at all.

strange...maybe i just have a bad batch of princo's.. i was really hopeing they would work.. i'm $50
