How hard is it to make a flash based encrypted thingy to run games off of? I think its rather simple and they can get 8 and 16GB chips at such a huge volume the unit price would be 2-5$ the game price could be 10-20$ on top of that.

I hope it has an XD slot...but it will probably have some overpriced, obsolete crap just like the PSP and all of the Sony cameras.
If there is a good catalog of games, and it is cheap, and it is hacked, then I might buy one in a couple years...maybe.

I thought Sony was going to move away from Cell development in future consoles? I thought I saw an article on that or something I don't remember, maybe I'm crazy.

Because I am not about to spend $50 on a game that looks like something left over from the PS2. Plus, Sony is notorious for cutting the most basic features and never including them...once the PS2 was hacked, it became useful for a lot more than just games.

so more propertarian bull crap from sony in its continued destruction of the second hand market, yep thats a great spec for the shareholders and more lubing up our arse holes for consumers having yet again to lube up for sony's anti consumer war.
do you want to own your games or be held to ransome by sony?

Not really things are in scale so you can have twice as much in a game as compared to whats on/in a 360 game disc, so 8-16GB should be the standard and 32 be used for big compilations or huge RPGs.

I hope it will have a tegra2 or better. That would be pretty sweet.
Lack of physical media sucks though, and, as a result, I'd only get it if it was hackable.

Isn't that the point of renting? Instead of downloading it off the net.
"but it will be launched this year, with a 2011 release date"
I don't get it, how can it launch this year but release next year?

am I the only onewho's seeing a problem with the design of this psp2? (assuming its controls are placed exactly as the final version - if/when it shows up)
the 2 analog sticks are above the buttons which means while playing any game on it...the left hand will have to move "up" to hit the analog stick while the right hand will have to move "down" to reach the 4 buttons...this is in direct contrast to the ps controller (or the current psp setup) and I think it can feel really uncomfortable
that said, its probably just a prototype since the design includes UMD (its stated in the pics) which isn't what the info. states
