I just ordered an Aladdin Live xbox modchip from http://www.modchipnow.com the tracking says it will be here tomorrow. Has anyone tried this chip before? I have an aladdin advance which i ordered at the same place, but I wanted to upgrade to the Aladdin Live modchip, as it comes with the programmer, USB cable, etc... which makes flashing it a lot easier than having to go through the burning of a CD, flashing the chip, etc.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has it, looks like a pretty good chip with loads of features. Supports live (though my aladdin advance did too, just had to turn it off when I wanted to go online) but this one looks like it takes the cake.

anyone install one already?

Thanks

You must solder "BT" on the right of the "R3G3"

Optionnal (L2 and L1) :
At the backward of the motherboard you should solder "L2" (see the pic)

Xbox v 1.0 to 1.2 :
sold the "L1" to the left of "R2G10"

Xbox v 1.3 to 1.5 :

xgamerx,
So how'd your mod turn out? I'm about to do this same thing except with an Aladdin Advance (not Live). Any tips?

Well I got the Aladdin installed. I can hold the power button 2 seconds and see the led light up amber, red, green and then the blue xbox logo starts up but then it just goes to the regular xbox screen with settings, music, etc. Thought I'd be seeing something different. Not sure what to do next.

thank you.
The raison for the name on the pic :
I only use my own pic on my website (every modchip), and I don't want to recocgnise my pic without see URL of the pic come from...
For this chip, I'm very lucky and test it before the modchip is on the shop... This is the first pic of Aladdin Live (now every body can buy it)
I have post the same on the orgianal websiter of Aladdin (on the forum)

look at the top of the thread on the 2nd pic down (one with chip installed). ok look on the right side of the chip at the opening, thats the spot where the pinheader mounts to the motherboard. it's right above the letter V in xavbox

i'm not sure about that particular chip, but on the xenium you have to remove 1 of the pins, it's the 2nd on from the end. You'll see on the LPC points of the motherboard which pin i mean. the pins dont matter on the xenium though, the pin has to come out of the pin header so it will fit in the motherboard.
