Ok for the past 3 days iv been trying to rip a dvd to either a avi or a mpeg file so i can whatch it on the pc,i dont want to keep it as a VOB as that takes up alot of space.

I thought i had it all sorted after getting to use tmpge but when i went to play the finished file there was no sound!!!

i used dvd2avi to extract it but not sure if i did it correct as the wave file dosnt play when i click o it.

so could somewone give me a step by step guide of how to get a audio fle using dvd2avi......

i looked at the guides but i need more info then that gives..

cheers

One of the best tips we can give you as a newbie muurrdock is to use the search function.....

I did so using your own sentence as the indicators "get a audio fle using dvd2avi"

Here are some helpful links for you. Unfortunately most of us are so busy that we can't write individual guides for each question asked. But we can certainly point you in the right direction to find the answers for yourself:

My best advice for NEWBIES is:"use the search function.

I've used dvd-to-AVI. Was wondering how you got a wav file? I say keep it simple, keep default settings. You'll have to play around to get the right screen size. I've used for wide screen set it to 720x288 and for full keep 480x480. for pieces select either n/a or 700mb. if you select n/a you'll get a 900mb file, and 700/200 the other way. for screen size select full you'll be happier this way (makes not difference in output size). But in the end you should end up with an AVI file. And as far as codec, I choose DivX, since you can get it for free.
