I'm embarassed, I have been away from kazaa for about 14 months, i went so far as to uninstall it, but now I've got it back and I can't remember how to use it, boy it's completely different, I try to search and it says, "..kazaa media desktop is not connected" so I goto file connect and still nothing. I'm running through dsl, what the hey!!!!! Can someone help?

Yes this is being reported a lot as a problem, however if u leave it attempting to connect for ages (now i mean along time) that seems to fix it in the long run.

However, if you are looking for a good p2p option, ARES Galaxy is like KaZaa, its not the bets or near the best of the networks but its similar and better than kazaa!

Ares' network is one of the fastest growing (if not the fastest growing) p2p networks out there. It is very much like Kazaa as far as interface, the file selection is similar (mostly single-mp3 file sharing,) speeds are o.k., but not recommended for larger files, at least at this juncture. However, the hashing method is more secure than Kazaa's, which was the main flaw from the beginning with Kazaa. The Ares installer comes with a bit of spyware, just make sure to uncheck it in the options and you'll be set. Ares has no standout verified link sites yet, but this network could prove to be pretty strong with some hashlink site assistance for larger files. Hopefully it will build and be a great service for at least a couple of years, lots of potential for it.

I have submitted a guide on how to use Ares (which is easy enuff) so hope to see it online within a few days1
