I'm curious what makes the above example produce "tips" rather than "tops". For that matter, how would one go about swiping "tops" instead?

As an active user, I can tell you that writing tops just requires you to not swype over the "i", just directly from the "t" to the "o"

thats a definite problem with the software then cuase this whole thing is built on speed and you cant be required to remember all words that may be created by the line you take.

The biggest problem I have is trying to write "that's" and it coming up as "that'd"...who the hell uses the word "that'd" lol

Why does the article say Android when this is clearly on a Windows Phone?

It isn't working on my G1. I can tap the keys to type but when I try to swipe it just gets stuck, you can swipe as many times as you want and it beeps at me but it just doesn't place any words into the text field. Even in the tutorial when it swipes for you it draws the line then stops.
