I just bought the gameshark (its a cd, with the black bottom) and trying to make a backup of it before my siblings can destroy the original... Same with contra: shattered soldier (expect the bottom is blue)

I have tried following the tutorials using record now max, demos of cdrwin, alcohol 120% and nero and for some reason keep getting disc read errors only from ps2 cd media only.

I can backup my ps2 dvd games fine with record now. I have tried on my dvd-rom drive and cd-rw drive on my computer and same issues and a cd-rom drive on another computer. Any idea? These are both brand new discs so it's not like there unreadable.

tried playstation and playstation2 options. When it tries to copy it down in the log says it cant read sublayer or something like that. Would that explain why it craps out at about 5%?

no I tried coping down to an image file via asus 50x cdrom, lg 32x cdrw, pioneer a05 dvdrw drive and my toshiba dvd-rom. It works with dvd media, cd media, just ps2 cd media (that has the non silver bottoms, the few that there are) all these drives have issues with.
