I'm looking to buy a consumer level camcorder, had my eye on the Sony TRV-38 / HC65, but recently, my attention was drawn to Panasonic's PV-GS200, which has 3 1/6" CCDs. (compared to the single 1/4.7", 1/5" on the TRV39, HC65 respectively). The reviews I read have been very positive of the GS200. However, in order to save some cash, I'm also looking at the 200's little brother the GS120. The differences include:

- No manual focus ring
- No wired remote
- No MPEG4 movies
- Lower CCD resolution

The first three things I can live without, but I'm slightly concerned with the 120's 460k pixels per CCD (290k effective moving pictures) vs. the 200's 800k pixels per CCD (440k effective moving pictures). If anyone has used these models, or knows anything about video resolution, my question is basically: is spending $200-300 more on the GS200 worth it?

Thanks,
Bryan
