Folks I am ripping with a 106 and dvd shrink someone told me that there is firmware somewhere that will allow me to rip far faster but not affect the quality of the copy.

I tried a google but i am a newbie so wasnt sure what i was looking for, any one point me in the right direction ??/

Scroll towards the bottom and you'll find a firmware for your 106 that will allow it to rip at 12X.

I have saved the prog to a floppy, do I just double clikc it let it run and turn PC on and off again ???


If not and I have to use DOS can u please give me a few pointers as I will get lost very easily.

Hi,

I've never flashed a Pioneer myself, so I can't really give you exact instructions. I'll see what I can do to get a Pioneer savvy member here to give you the skinny on the process because it's something that needs to be done correctly or you can trash your burner.

Hi, there are instructions included within the download file to explain how to flash your drive. Merely run the program (its a DOS program) and it will ask you to confirm flashing of the drive. Confirm it and it should work fine.
