Why is it that if i split a DivX movie that ive downloaded either the sound goes out of sync or i get very jerky playback.

Ive split the file with TMPGenc and another splitter programm but i still get the same problems.

Why?

Hey, I spent the last 2 hours trying to split some movies. I tried virtual dub but no luck. My solution, Easy video splitter, works like a charm; none of that audio out of sink bs.

It works on my PC without the audio being out of sync, but when the video footage stops the audio still goes on playing for some reason. Plus i want to play the split movie file on my stand alone DX-3220 MPEG-4/DVD player and it won't play the movie at all on that.

Is it possible to find a piece of software that actually works? :-(

I use virtual dub and never have any problems with it. there is a guide on how to split files on this site.

VirtualDub did detect an improper VBR MP3 encoding and said that it would convert it to CBR.

Is this the reason why the movie file wouldn't work on my stand alone DVD/DivX MPEG-4 player?

PS i will try the new splitt wqith VirtualDub later on and post results.

Dunno about standlones since i dont have one but that would be the reason why your splits are out of synch.

Files that are split with VirtualDub work a treat on my PC and on my DVD/DivX player!

A file that's split with EasyVideoSplitter works on my PC but does not work at all on my stand alone DVD/DivX player!

virtualDub get's a big thumbs up from me :-)
