Rumor: Next iPad to include camera

According to AppleInsider, the second generation iPad tablet will likely have a camera, a feature shockingly missing from the first version.
Citing a document of Apple's iPad management policies, the site says there will be an ability to disable the use of the camera. As we know, there is no camera on the current generation model.

because everyone is a ifag, they must have it. Release a brick and call it a iphone and people will still buy it, release a ipad with a camera that was developed before first generation people will still buy it. Marketing to suck it dry is not a new thing and to Apple it is not a new policy.
Just like the iPhone wait the 12 months or so they bring out the S edition then you buy it and another 6 months ipad 2 will come out

Hmmm...if I had to request two things for an iPad, I know that flash support would be one of them. Funny how steve jobs claims that they want every last user to be happy, yet he blocks something that about 90% of his users are demanding.
Seems like it should have two cameras...I honestly don't want video calling, but Steve Jobs seems to think that it is the future, and that it is "Magical". Given this, they should stick two cameras in there.
...But what does my opinion matter? I am no apple customer...and I won't be buying an "i" device any time soon. Their business model is based on selling to people who are not only novices, but who don't even bother to read a 1-page article about the pros and cons before they make a $700 purchase. These people expected the first iPad to have a camera, and they couldn't get angry at apple when it did not have one, because they never claimed it did. Now they release a "new" version that has a camera, and all the sheep flock over to the "new" version with a 2MP camera. Then a couple months later, apple will release one with a front-facing camera, and all these idiots will drop another $700 for that version (and about half of those who buy these just for the cameras will never even try the camera to see if it works).

don't worry the way things are going tv will have cameras.even cigarette lights and cigarette packets will have camera's eventually.seems everyday more and more things are being given cameras to look more flash.
custom built gaming pc from early 2010,ps2 with 15 games all original,ps3 500gbs with 5 games all original,yamaha amp and 5.1channel surround sound speakers,46inch sony lcd smart tv.

Only thing worth buying from Apple is an iPod Touch and they rip us off with a little false labelling...
The iPhone, maybe but the death grip problem is laughable.
The iPad. Lol. Waste of time and money.

Now wait....I think you are all jealous here.
I think we would all like a bunch of suckers that would pay full price twice even three times for a device that gets incremental updates that could have easily come with the first device. Seriously, you would make a lot of money like apple is doing right now. ;-)

Yeah, why release a finished product when you can release a dozen unfinished products, each one slightly more complete than the last...it seems to have worked well for windows.

The thing about the ipad is that when they choose to upgrade it to support the camera they won't even have to upgrade the case that much because we already saw the break down of the device and saw that empty spot where a webcam can be easily fixed. Apple always intentional leaves out features that we want in order to make sure that have sales when they release the next version.

My thoughts exactly. Leave out features that should have been and could have been in the first place and that people said they wanted before the iPad was even released. Now include those features and call it magical and make the people that spend $500+ on an iPad buy another one 1-2 years later.
Why people do this I do not know.

Apple customers are sheep, they will buy anything that apple tells them to buy. Android devices have a harder time, as they actually have to compete with features, rather than a logo...so they just make the device nice to start with.

Yeah, that's true especially for Win95/98. What it looks like to me is Apple finding a way to legally build planned obsolescence into their products.

For the fanboys, and their are plenty of them for *every* company, yes. I bought an iPod and enjoy it but I wouldn't buy another Apple product.
With Apple releasing iPhones every year or two while just barely adding features I wouldn't dare buy another Apple product when my iPod dies, as they probably plan to do the same type of release cycle with all their products.

Sorry...
[most] Apple customers are sheep...and about 99% of those who purchased the iPhone4 or iPad within a week of release fall into this category. There are a few people that buy apple products for reviews, teardowns, etc...and there are plenty of programmers who buy them to make sure their apps work too. Then there is the "one-time" customer who thinks apple is great, buys an apple product, and quickly learns the truth...something tells me that the iPad and the iPhone4 will create many "One-Time" customers.
