i am a newbie ti divx also. have a philips 642 player that supports divx 4.1

used simpledivx to creat an ?divxavi file on hard drive
installed codec 4.1 separately

windows media player plays the file too fast (4-5x)

burned it to cdrw with nero as a data file. Philips will not recognize disc.

therefore two issues- probably problem with encoding to explain the speed.

second issue; do you just burn a data file to cd and expect it to play on a dvp or is there someother format or protocol to follow. I originally ripped the files with dvdshrink to hard drive...
