Can't Upgrade firmware on Artec G48R drive

I'm having a terrible time upgrading the firmware on my Artec G48R drive. It shipped with 2.02 fimware and I want to upgrade it to the region free firmware. I even created a bootdisk as instructed and it didn't work either. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
