The BBC launched the iPlayer to much fanfare in 2007, and the service has been largely successful on the PC, smartphones and even game consoles. However, the iPlayer was only available in the UK. That may be changing soon, says BBC Director-General Mark Thompson. About time, ABC Australia has been quite a success, many of us don't have the opportunity to watch BBC progs unless they are Austar oldies. Be a nice touch.
