peer guardian slowing down cpu

Just a quick question, only recently, peer guardian seems to be slowing down my computer, to such an extent that when its okk, it hovers around 2-3%, when its ok, the cpu usage jumps to 97-100%.
Any suggestions why this might be?


Its version 1.99. I remember reading that older versions might cause this, but I thought that was fixed in this version.
