Ok, here is the details.....

Evox Dashboard Build 3935
Xecutor BIOS 4983.06 256k
Aladdin Mod Chip

Ok, so, I installed Evox, right? So the dashboard is on there. The main reason why I got the chip is so I can make backups and store away my other ones. However, I accidentally flashed my chip with the Evox BIOS, which doesn't allow this. So I frantically searched for a new BIOS that COULD, and I found the Xecutor listed above. Please note that my chip can only hold 256k. So I have the new Xecutor BIOS flashed on my chip, but I STILL can't play backups. This is what I did. I took my original copy of a game and put it in the CD tray with the Dashboard opened. Then, I FTP'ed ALL of the files from my D: drive onto my computer. From there, I used ISOCraxtion to make an ISO of it, and I burned it on a TDK DVD-R with Stomp Record Now Max. And then I put it in my Xbox, and it didn't run through Evox. I thought this was originally a Media problem, so I burnt it on a Ritek DVD-R, which is very Samsung friendly, and it still didn't work. I also can't read my DVD movie backups, with or without the DVD plugin to my controller port. I just put in the game/movie backup, Evox reads it, and then it says Unknown...... WHAT DID I DO WRONG? Do I need to update something somewhere, and if so, where do I go for this? I need your help! Thanks.

FIRST YOUR DVD MOVIE BACKUP
ok for a start evox does not link the dvd movie player to the "launch dvd" bit (i dont no why)i use dvd dongle free which i linked by editing the evox.ini.

GAME BACKUP
You might be making the backup wrong, after you turn it into an xISO you should burn it as an xISO and not separate data, this is how you should burn an xISO with
NERO

-open up NERO
-Go to Nero burning rom se(data disc)
-click file
-click open
-go to file type and turn it to all files
-then select your ISO
-it should now bring up the burn screen, selct the slowest speed, make sure finalise dvd is selected, and burn onto realible media

if it still wont work, try a backup to your xbox HDD, to do this send all the files into a sub folder in your /E folder called games, do NOT turn it into an ISO, just send the files, if it works of that, then its definatly NOT a bios problem

on a lesser note, how the hell did you "accidently" flash your chip with the evox BIOS????

DVD Dongle.... Is this a program that I just FTP to my xbox? What do I put in Evox.ini so it'll recognize it. Where do I extract the program?

And also, the "accidental" thing was just because I didn't know much back then about Evox, so I just went and did it. I know better now! Thanks for your help.

yeah dvdx2dongle free is what i use, its really cool, you dont use your remote, you use your controler, and its region free.

ok this is what you do.

downloa dvdx2
in your /e folder make a sub-folder called apps
ftp the dvdx2 to that sub-folder (i renamed the folder dvd 2.0 to dvdx)

now for your evox.ini

where it says dvd player change it from "c:\xboxdash.xbe"
to "e:\apps\dvdx\default.xbe"

now when you click launch dvd with a dvd movie in, it will automatically start dvdx

Also, I put a folder in my E: called Games, and I put all of the files for a game in there.... What do I do next? How do I run it?

ok if you edit the evox.ini file like i said, you just put a dvd movie disc in your xbox and click launch dvd, however if you dont bother to edit the evox.ini you have to go to launch menu then click apps, then select dvdx

OK well I found the right file, and I put it on my xbox, but even with that program it's not reading my backups....

I open it up, eject the disc out, put in MY backup, and it just sits there, doing nothing.
