You need to go check out this part of AfterDawn: http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com/ If that isn't any help get back to me. There are several questions you'd have to answer before anyone can help. So, check the dvdxcopy forum first. What is the deal of recognizing correct size? Most DVD R and RW media is the 4.7 GB size. Do you mean type? Exactly what is happening when you put a RW disc in and try to burn? Does it burn at all? Do you get error readings from the computer? If so, what are they? Does it say it burns and you can't play it on a drive? A lot of home entertainment dvd players won't play RW discs. My Samsung won't, but my PC dvd player does a good job. I use RW to check when I'm having problems. You can use the same one over and over. In fact I just ran one through DVD X Copy Express, a part of my DVD X Copy Platinum. Mine went through the whole process, when the computer asked for a disc, I loaded the RW. Then it proceeded to format the disc because I had material on the disc. Nowhere did it mention size. Now, do you get an idea?

And when you say DVD X Copy, what version? Are you talking about the Gold, Platinum, Xpress, or an RF version? 321 had a lot of variations. And Xpress has only the choice of language, subtitles, file location and entire disc as options, with no settings for disc type. That has to do with the computer and the drivers (software).

And then you have the question, what kind of computer and burner are you using? What type of discs is the burner drive set to work with. Some do -R, some +R and some do it all. You get into media which is another forum. How much memory, size of the hard drive, free hard drive space, cpu type and size.
